Fixes timelines for achieving targets

KULGAM, JANUARY 18 (KNO) : The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the directions passed by the Chief Minister during the public outreach programme on 25th November, 2017. The District Development Commissioner, Talat Parvez Rohella apprised the Minister about the action taken on the CM directions. He informed that 329 directions were passed in the public meet out of which 29 works are such in which funds to the tune of Rs 6.84 crore have been released. Out of these 29 works, 24 works have been taken up so far. The Div Com sought sector-wise feedback from the concerned officers and fixed target dates for completion of the CM directions. Meanwhile, he directed the DDC to personally monitor the implementation of different projects which have been approved in the public meeting. He also sought the status of the directions which have been taken up with the higher authorities. Divisional Commissioner directed the DDC to constitute separate inter-departmental monitoring and vigilance committees for monitoring and verification of works so that accountability and transparency are ensured. He directed all the concerned officers to ensure full implementation of the decisions by the end of this financial year. While reviewing the directions passed in PHE sector, the chair was informed that the department has taken up 12 out of 33 filtration plants for revamping and making them functional. So far, 4 filtration plants have been made functional and work on rest 8 is going on. An amount of Rs. 51.44 lacs shall be expended on making these filtration plants functional. Besides, the concerned officers apprised him that work of WSS Waltengoo-Razloo Kund, WSS Panzgam Nad-Kraloo-Kanchloo, LIS Peth and Bon Devsar is under progress and shall be commissioned by ending March 2018. While as, WSS Yaripora shall be completed by June 2018 which shall be catering to a population of 4030 souls. With regard to the I&FC, the chair directed the Exens of I&FC to take up the execution work on 33 vulnerable spots. Besides, he directed them to expedite the repairmen /dredging work on all the 6 major irrigation canals namely Banimulla, Gramtu, Mav, Sonman, Nandi and Noorabad canal.(KNO)
